019: Xmas Meanings

Younger and non-human characters get the benefit of not quite understanding human culture. R-0Y’s design is a combination of some 80’s robots, Teddy Ruxpin, and maybe more than a little of the Prince from Katamari Damacy. The personality is TBD. It’s another mix, and that’s going to change as I work on it. You’ll see this happen in most sitcoms, comics, and other series type media.
I think there’s some obsession with “getting it right” before you share, because people have such limited attention spans? But I grew up in a world with two or three seasons of any show that was “just okay” and then got good. It would be interesting to see what certain properties would do if they had a guarantee of four or five years of content before they start. I don’t think this comic — or most of the comics I admire — started out in their final perfect form.
