Workflow Complete!

After more than a year in development, I finally officially have a web comic! That is, I have a comic that is posted on a website. Even if it’s also posted to Instagram, Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook. Having a website makes it a web comic.
The biggest accomplishment for me is the workflow – entirely digital, and entirely on a single device! First, the comic is sketched, inked and coloured all in Procreate. Once exported I take it over to Adobe Illustrator (still on the iPad) and export the four individual comic panels for both Instagram and the mobile website. Finally, I write the posts using WordPress through Safari.
Being able to do everything on a single, portable device is pretty cool. No sketchbooks, no scanners, no computers! My whole workflow fits into a small satchel or European carry-all. It wasn’t exactly cheap, but if I was just starting out I would just get a lesser version.
For the record: You don’t need an iPad Pro 12.9” with the Pencil and Magic Keyboard to make your art. A good artist can work with a napkin and a ballpoint pen.
As of this post I still have 22 more comics to export and put on the site. I also have a lot more comics to write and draw. I can’t wait for you to meet Kevin!
