044: Codblast! III: Revenge of the Cod

Continuing the side story of Sam’s interactions with our favourite cod-flavoured soda beverage. Still not sure how this story line will resolve, but I’m having fun just playing with the idea of such a delicious fishy drink.
This comic should have been an easy win, but I struggled to work at it this week. I have been finding it difficult to work on the comic lately in general. I think there’s a full blog post update, but the short version is “I’ve reached the point where it feels like work, so I don’t want to do it any more.” Any project gets less fun over time, it’s a simple fact of creation. I’ve found myself also getting into a video game for the first time in a while (Deathloop is excellent!) so that took most of my spare time.
Still happy with how it turned out. The whole thing was drawn without any reference art at all, just a simple loose sketch, then a refined sketch and it’s ready for ink! Still took 8 hours…
