069: Plot of Gold

Another semi-successful ‘mini-arc’ towards the finale of this ‘chapter/part/season/series/thing’! I think it’s good in a format like this to do a sort of ‘summary’ episode, so as people flip through the comics they get a little recap now and again. Might also tease new readers to go back? I’m still not sure people are consuming sequential web comics in any great quantity, but it would be great to find a community that does! (Already posting to r/webcomics and r/comics!)
The joke is a nod to Lost, one of many (also…the temple?) that will start to be more of a fun nostalgic gag rather than lame references. It will be an integral part of the story (some day!) but right now it’s not even being lampshaded. I’ve already made the note to work on my lampshading in a future comic.
Attempted a ‘twilight/dusk’ lighting for this one? Within the limits of this style and setting it’s a bit of blessing/curse trying out different lighting. I need to make a point of trying some campfire lighting, and in the next arc we are going to do our first official interior: a cave! Inside we will finally meet our fourth character…
