080: In-terror-gator
June 19, 2024
This is the longest one in a while…over 10 hours! No idea where all that time went it felt pretty straightforward. I think it turned out okay. Not one of the best but I’m not feeling totally up to snuff this week in general. Pre-Summer blues?
I kind of like the character-driven choices I made on this one. Kevin is immediately confrontational and assumes the worst, Sam is calm and communicative and reasonable, and Roy is impulsive and overly enthusiastic. I think it’s a nice distillation of how these characters were designed to act and it’s neat to see them actually having interactions that feel natural, despite the fact that it’s a goose yelling at a wood nymph.
I really cheapened out on that last panel, but I like the extra white space left by the absent character. It was TOTALLY NOT because I couldn’t be bothered to draw Laurel in a fourth pose. I swear!
