095: Escher-ly you can’t be serious

This is it! The last comic before the final scenes! I envisioned this one when I first came up with the “adventure in the jungle temple” plot. I have always loved MC Escher, and I thought it would be interesting and funny to re-unite them in a giant maze of stairs. This was the reason I had them on their own and why I split them up a few comics ago. All for this one visual gag!
The only problem was having to draw it! I am no Escher, nor did I want to spend 500 hours of trial and error trying to figure out how to bring my mental vision to the page. In the end I figured out how to sort of ‘layer’ different sizes of elements to give you the idea of distance and space. Is it perfect? Heck no. Does it effectively get the point across and almost make a good joke? Debatably! It’s difficult to do ‘comic’ style that’s fully 3-dimensional art. This is the ‘impression’ of a giant maze of stairs.
I spent about 10 hours on it so not overly dramatic. I was thinking this might be the cover art, but in the end I decided to just focus on making the best one panel comic I could. I think it turned out okay.
